Felon Arrested with a Loaded Firearm

Location: 600 block of Warrington Avenue, Redwood City, CA 94062

Type of Crime: PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in possession of a firearm

PC 30305(a) – Prohibited Person in possession of ammunition
PC 25850(c) – Carry loaded firearm with prior felony convictions
PC 166(a)(4) – Violation of court order
PC 3056 – Violation of parole

Suspect: Jose Guadalupe Gaytan (32-years-old male) Redwood City, CA- Arrested

Unincorporated Redwood City, CA., On December 27, 2023, at approximately 2 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Warrington Avenue in Unincorporated Redwood City, in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies contacted an individual named Jose Guadalupe Gaytan.

During the interaction, it was revealed that there was a restraining order in place against Gaytan for an address on Warrington Avenue, and he was also under the supervision of the California Department of Corrections (CDC) due to parole conditions. Subsequently, deputies conducted a parole search, which led to the discovery of a loaded firearm in Gaytan's possession.

Gaytan was placed under arrest for the aforementioned charges and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility, where he is being held on a no bail status.
