Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder, Assault W/Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threats in Unincorporated Redwood City Neighborhood

Suspect: Yanes-Sumana, Cristian ARRESTED 23 years old Redwood City resident

Unincorporated Redwood City – On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 9:52 PM, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of an assault with a knife on the 500 block of Oakside Avenue, in North Fair Oaks. The suspect allegedly wielded a knife in an attempt to stab another male at the residence while making criminal threats to kill him. The victim was able to defend himself, avoiding any injuries during the incident. Sheriff’s Deputies detained the suspect at the scene, and he received treatment for minor injuries at the hospital. The suspect identified as 23 year-old Cristian Yanes-Sumana was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
