Crime and Arrest Data
This dashboard tracks arrest data for the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, showing trends by location, gender, race, crime type and NIBRS/CIBRS categories. For additional crime and arrest data, visit our new and improved crime data portal. Community members can search within the portal for crimes by date, location and type of crime. Arrests shown in this dashboard are only inclusive of arrests made by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and do not reflect arrests made by other agencies in San Mateo County. This dashboard is not inclusive of all the crimes that occur in our jurisdiction, nor does it reflect all reports taken by our agency or the CAD data (incidents reported to dispatch).
Use of Force Data
This dashboard displays data on use of force incidents, including types of force applied, reasons for force and case outcomes. Data includes race, gender, and age, as well as injury rates, criminal charges and geographic distribution of incidents.
Corrections Data
This dashboard tracks corrections statistics including but not limited to population trends with metrics on bookings, releases, residency, race, sentencing and arrests by agency. It highlights changes over time to support transparency and informed decision-making.
Evictions and Three-Foot Rule Data

This dashboard also reflects eviction activity in San Mateo County, showing court ordered Unlawful Detainer housing enforcement trends over time.
Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA) Data
This dashboard highlights detailed data on RIPA stops and searches as of January 2023 through current, to include trends by gender, race, city, and reason for stop and outcomes.

Employee Demographic Data
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office strives to have a workforce that is reflective of the community we serve. In 2023, the Sheriff’s Office joined the 30x30 Initiative, pledging to have 30% of its sworn workforce be women by the year 2030. Data in this portal includes gender, age, race/ethnicity, years of service, military status and bilingual pay status. It provides insight into workforce composition and diversity across both sworn and professional staff.
